Information to staff and parents policy.
How we share information with staff, educators and families, including policies, notices and the ways parents can raise questions or feedback.
Aim: To facilitate exchange of information relevant to the centre and the early childhood sector.
Purpose: To keep parents and educators informed and involved in centre direction and to offer information on specialised areas to educators and parents.
Procedure
1. Staff Meetings
(i) To hold regular staff meetings.
(ii) An agenda must be written with staff able to have input.
(iii) Minutes to be taken and kept on file.
2. Parent Meetings
(i) To hold meetings throughout the year as required.
(ii) An agenda must be written with staff and parents able to have input.
(iii) Date, time, and agenda to be specified through the centre App or noticeboard and displayed in a prominent place one week prior to meeting.
(iv) Minutes to be taken and kept on file.
3. Reports / Individual Parent Meetings
(i) Individual developmental reports to be written mid and end of year and sent home to families with portfolio records through the centre’s App.
(ii) Two individual parent meetings to be offered to parents annually to: -
(a) discuss individual children's progress;
(b) review mid-year reports and progress;
(c) review end of year reports and discuss portfolios.
(iii) Educators to be available to meet with parents as required at other times throughout the year.
4. OWNA App
(i) To provide daily updates about events, learning etc. happening within the centre.
(ii) To communicate children’s individual learning, observations, work samples etc. are communicated to families through the child’s e-portfolio on the App.
