Who we are

Eikoh Seminar Australia Pty Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Eikoh Inc., founded in 1980 and headquartered in Saitama-Shi, Japan. Eikoh Inc. is part of the Z-kai Group, an educational services group operating in Japan, Vietnam, and Australia.

In Japan, Eikoh Inc. operates a range of educational businesses, including child care centres, cram schools (juku) for elementary, high school, and college entrance exams, and adult education. The group has three main segments: Education, Educational Solutions, and Other.

In Australia, Eikoh Seminar Australia operates only the four early childhood education and care centres listed below. We've been building and operating purpose-built childcare centres since 1991, more than three decades.

Our four centres

Each of our centres is run by its own director. They aren't franchises or carbon copies. They share the same parent organisation, the same governance structure, and the same long-tenured-team philosophy. The way each one feels day-to-day, the kind of family it suits best, that's slightly different.

Our governance

Each centre is managed by its own Director. All Directors hold early childhood qualifications. The Directors report to a Senior Director who oversees the Australian operation. Eikoh Seminar Australia's Managing Director provides strategic direction and reports back to Eikoh Inc. in Japan.

This structure means each centre has the autonomy to run its own day-to-day operations and develop its own character, while sharing common policies, procurement, and back-office functions. Centre Directors meet regularly to share practice and ensure consistency on the things that matter (child safety, programme quality, regulatory compliance), while leaving room for differences on the things that don't need to be uniform.

Our approach

Our goal is to provide childcare at reasonable prices and the highest quality care and education for every child who attends. We achieve that by:

Staff retention is one of the things we're most proud of. Three of the teachers at Normanhurst have been there for two decades or more. The Roseville and West Ryde directors have led their centres for years. Tina at St Ives Chase has been there since 2017.

Child Safe commitment

Eikoh Seminar Australia is committed to the effective implementation of our Child Safe Policy and the NSW Child Safe Standards across all four centres. The policy is reviewed and updated regularly. We are committed to ensuring that the children in our care are protected and that their rights are respected and valued.

Our aim is for all children to feel safe, secure, and supported within our learning environments. Educators are aware of their obligations and responsibilities relating to child safety. We provide an environment where children can confidently express themselves, feel respected, and be listened to.
