About Eikoh Seminar Australia.
The Australian subsidiary of Eikoh Inc., Japan. 4 early childhood centres across northern Sydney. Established 1991.
Eikoh Seminar Australia Pty Ltd is the Australian subsidiary of Eikoh Inc., a Japanese education group founded in Saitama in 1980. We've operated early childhood centres across northern Sydney since 1991.
4 centres, one head office
We currently operate four early childhood education and care centres:
- Normanhurst Child Care Centre - long day care for 6 weeks to 6 years, since 1997, 48 places
- Roseville Kindergarten - preschool for 3-6 years, since 1992, 40 places
- St Ives Chase Kindergarten - Reggio-inspired preschool for 2.5-6 years, since 1991, 40 places (our first centre)
- West Ryde Long Day Care - long day care for 6 weeks to 6 years, since 2007, 79 places
Each centre has its own director, its own team, and its own educational approach. The head office at Normanhurst handles finance, HR, compliance and shared back-office functions. Day-to-day care, programming, and family relationships happen at the centre level.
Our history in Australia
The first centre, St Ives Chase Kindergarten, opened in 1991. Roseville Kindergarten followed in 1992. Normanhurst Child Care Centre opened in October 1997. West Ryde Long Day Care joined the family of centres in 2007.
Many of our directors and educators have been with us for more than 15 years. The St Ives Chase, Normanhurst and West Ryde centres have all had the same Centre Director for over a decade. This continuity is one of the things parents most often comment on.
The connection to Eikoh Inc., Japan
Eikoh Inc. was founded in Saitama, Japan in 1980 and joined the Z-Kai Group in 2011. In Australia, Eikoh Seminar Australia operates as an independent group of early childhood education centres, fully under Australian and NSW early childhood frameworks.
What we share with our parent organisation is a long-term commitment to high-quality education, continuity, and careful investment in the people and environments children experience every day. Our centres follow Australia's Early Years Learning Framework and are part of their local Sydney communities.
Governance
Eikoh Seminar Australia Pty Ltd, ABN 54 050 051 495, is registered in NSW. Managing Director Kinya Yumoto is the company signatory. General Manager Suzanne Kimpton oversees operations across all 4 centres. Each centre director reports to the General Manager and operates with significant autonomy in programming, hiring within their centre, and family relationships.
